with a permanent seat in the halls of Congress
- 1844- Dolley sells the rest of Montpelier
- 1848- Dolley sells the rest of James's papers for
$25,000
- 1848- Dolley serves as honorary chairman of a women's
group to raise funds for the Washington Memorial
